My IIMA PI is haunting me in the head, want some feedback
Sorry for the really long post, this is very detailed.
9/9/8 OBC, 98.5% male engineer with 2yr work ex in product management.
The interview went for approximately 40mins, and the tone was pleasant and conversational.
P1, P2 (communications prof, prof who did masters and bachelors in Computer science) both female
P1: good morning, sit down
Me: Hi maam, Good morning, good morning maam
P1: what is your role in your previous company?
Me: (It’s a product based role, change management, etc, I explained it to her).
P1: So your role is completely replaceable by AI then.
Me: Yes Maam, to an extent yes. But my role involves me to constantly communicate w multiple high value stakeholders and that is 80% of my work and idt at this point AI can replace me.
P1: I meant as a whole product management will be replaceable.
Me: Ahh yes maam, In the company we were already working on imbedding AI systems into the workflows, So I agree.
P1: So what is your family business and what is your goal after that
Me: Gave a brief on the business details and told her I want to get into consulting
P1: Consulting industry is already a dead industry why would you want to into such industry (smirked)
Me: Maam my idea is to spend some years in this industry to gain knowledge and experience handling business issues, and then eventually take a major responsibility in my family business
P1: But consulting is not relevant anymore.
Me: Maybe I will explore into other options in the program duration which will fit better.
P2: Yeah fair, makes sense.
P2: So, you’re from computer science background, Do you remember any subjects that you studied?
Me: I was then interested in Computer Networks and Operating Systems.
P2: What are tcpip and osi models, full form of tcpip
Me: (was trying to recollect the full form But gave up and started explaining the models)
P2: You can take the pen andpaper and draw the models
Me: (I drew them and explained, in the process i remembered the full form and told her)
P2: Now you remember ah…, Okay so when is TCP used and when is UDP used
Me: Answered
P2: how does tcp work, show with diagrams
Me: (Drew hops in between and source, receiver, etc and explained the three way handshake and its uses)
P2: Do you think TCP takes care of the connection from the sender to receiver or just from the sender to the next hop.
Me: (I was confused here and said an answwr)
P2: Go back and look into this once.
P1: You’ve written in your AWT that it was difficult for parents to manage children during Covid more than in the normal days
Me: It is difficult maam, but what i was trying to explain is, during Covid parents had more time to work because they didn’t have to worry about getting their children ready for schools and everything
P1: But people now have maids and other ways they could do this.
Me: Yes maam, but not everyone will have maids and cooks right.
P1: But there’s always a work around on that, during lock down, children were actually a lot of work because they are 24/7 in…
