[Subclass 403 MATES] Received NoS, but my Bachelor's took 7 years to complete. Will this cause a
Hi everyone,
I was recently selected in the MATES (Subclass 403) ballot and received my Notification of Selection (NoS). However, I have an unusual graduation timeline and want to know if it will trigger a refusal during processing.
My Profile:
Degree: BE CSE (University is Top 100 NIRF 2024)
English: IELTS 6.5
Graduation Date: February 2025
The Situation:
I started my degree in 2018, meaning it took me almost 7 years to officially complete.
I finished all core and elective courses by October 2023 but delayed my final year project, which pushed my official results and graduation to February 2025.
Because of this delay, my official graduation date makes me eligible for the MATES visa.
My Questions:
Will the 7-year total duration of my degree raise red flags with the case officer, or is the final completion date (Feb 2025) the only metric they care about?
If asked for transcripts, should I proactively upload a cover letter explaining the gap, or just provide the completion letter and wait for a Request for Information (s56)?
Thanks in advance for any insights!
