Trigema - Finally, I can shop for clothes again with a clear conscience
When it comes to clothing in particular, it’s not at all easy to find something that is TRULY ‘Made in the EU’. Behind many products, there’s simply a company based in the EU, but even these companies end up having their goods manufactured in the Far East.
About a year ago, when Donald started imposing his tariffs, I started looking for genuine alternatives for many things. Both online and offline. That’s how I ended up with Trigema. I’d heard of the company before, but I decided to take a closer look at it.
Trigema is a German company that has all its clothing manufactured 100% in Germany using sustainable methods. What’s particularly commendable is that, unlike many other companies, Trigema hasn’t just recently adopted this principle because it’s currently ‘in vogue’; rather, it has always manufactured everything in Germany and has long been committed to the highest possible standards of sustainability and quality/durability.
Yes, of course these items cost more than those from the Far East. One boxer short costs around €40, for example. But the quality and comfort are far superior. And if the clothes last for several years instead of falling apart after just one year, they actually work out cheaper in the long run. Because that’s exactly what I can tell you from my own experience. Whilst the boxers I bought just before my ‘Trigema experiment’ – which are ‘Made in China’ – already have the elastic waistband coming apart after just a year, my Trigema ones are still as good as new.
It might sound like it, but I’m not an employee at Trigema. :) I’m just really glad to have found a company, which reflects my values and moral principles, and therefore where i can shop for clothes again with a clear conscience.
