Just venting, but also a cautionary tale... I got a bill this month from FedEx for $216 for a crankset I bought from Northshore Billet (I'm in the US) last Fall. Obviously, this is fucking ridiculous. In case anyone still hasn't figured it out, us regular people are the ones who end up paying these tariffs - sometimes indirectly because the importer already paid it and passed the cost on to their customers, and sometimes directly (like this) if you buy just about anything from outside the US.

It's wild to me that *consumers* can get hit with fees like this, it's not like everyone is starting their own importing biz. This was already a pricey crankset, with these fees, it's nuts.

Since SCOTUS ruled the tariffs were illegal and there's now a refund site setup, I'm going to try to dodge this bill somehow. It'll probably negatively affect my credit score in the meantime, which is annoying as hell. I hate to say it, but be careful about where you're shopping unless you're willing to accept massive bills like this.

At the end of the day, my tariff woes are a small problem. I just want to ride my bikes and enjoy life. I'd really like to see us stop causing turmoil all over the world.
