Chains have to pay franchise fees and there's no responsibility when something goes wrong, the hotel owner doesn't really care because they just paid for the chain name/logo so it's their responsibility, while the actual chain also doesn't care because they have so many hotels, why would they?<br>

<br>

Having an issue in a small boutique hotel is an actual issue for a hotel owner because they actually care about their product, it's their life's work usually<br>

<br>

Also since they don't pay a franchise fee (which adds up to a lot), you get more value for your $$$<br>

<br>

So I've added a Boutique hotel filter, so you can find those independently owned hotels and have better stays! And support local business too 😊</p>
