While speaking to Energia yesterday I was told that they allow you to switch Smart tariffs as many times as you want mid-contract. In my case we use essentially no daytime/peak electricity during the summer months (solar panels + battery charging over night) so I can move to whatever tariff has the cheapest possible night rate ignoring the day rates. Then in the winter we use the day rate more heavily because there is no solar and we have a large heatpump, so we can swap to a tariff where the day rates aren't too penal.

This was news to me and I thought might interest others.
